Personal Pitch Tips from Tony de Bree for the TheNextWomen Pitch Competition.

TheNextWomen Pitch Competition in Amsterdam – Tony’s Pitch Tips & Gifts.

Great! Tonight I am invited to attend the TheNextWomen Pitch Competition – Semi Finals in Amsterdam. I am really excited about the pitches that the different contenders will be providing. Here are my personal tips and some gifts for the four winners tonight.

Women are better at starting successful startups than men.

I am really happy to have been invited by the organizers of TheNextWomen Pitch Competition to attend the semi-finals tonight. I am really looking forward to it. Pitching is very important in different stages of the life-cycle of your company if you want to be successful in developing your business idea into a successful startup or scale-up.

And as I wrote in my book in Dutch for founders of and investors in startups and scale-ups, women are actually better than men at building a successful company (read the article in Dutch here)! And as I have been in a lot of startup-juries including in the European and the Dutch Fintech Awards, here are some of my personal tips for tonight:

Tony’s Personal Pitch Tips.

What professional members of jury’s want to know is:

  1. Who are you?
  2. What is the problem/the opportunity?
  3. Who are your paying customers?
  4. With whom are you going to do it? (co-founder, team, partners etc)
  5. What makes you different from the competition?
  6. What is your value proposition?
  7. What do you want and need?

In all these cases, you have to demonstrate that you have done your homework. And a last tip: make sure you find out everything you can about the judges that you have in front of you tonight. What makes them tick?

The winners will get a copy of ‘Kan het vliegen? Van idee tot succcesvolle startup’.

The winners that will go to the final will receive a small present from me and my editor and that is a copy of my latest bestselling book for founders of startups and investors including the tips of a number of very experienced and successful women that have contributed to the book (see the book here). And if you do not read Dutch, I will provide you with a free copy of a number of e-books in English and 1 hour of free discussions with me to help you developing your idea into a successful startup or scale-up, ok?

Good luck and see you tonight!
